Elections 2015 - Get it right

A two hour session on Thursday 5 March 2015, from 11.00am to 1.00pm will be held in the Boardroom at Aldern House, Bakewell to explain the election procedures and processes that will lead up to the town and parish council elections on 7 May 2015.

The legal context, budgets, timetable, nominations process, campaigns, polling day and results will all be covered, together with the correct procedures for taking office, and dealing with insufficient nominations, co-option and casual vacancies. We will also be looking at tools (such as newsletter articles and posters) to encourage members of your community go get involved with their councils and stand for office.
