Communities Fund applications open

What is the Communities Fund? A £2.5m pot over the next 2 years from DCLG to provide funding to local authorities working with community groups to deliver solutions to entrenched social issues for example relating to:

• Early intervention and high cost individuals

• Adult social care

• Children's Services

• Employment Support

Survey: opinions on extending Dependants’ Carers’ allowance to parish and town councillors

The National Association of Local Councils has adopted a longstanding policy position that parish councillors should have the same rights as principal authority councillors to be able to claim the Dependants' Carers' allowance. 2016-2018 National Salary Award

The National Joint Council for Local Government Services (NJC) has reached agreement on pay scales for 2016 - 2018. New pay scales for 2016/17 are to be implemented immediately and backdated to 1 April 2016.

Financial Regulations 2016

It is a mandatory requirement that every town and parish council should have Financial Regulations in place. The 2014 Model template has been revised and replaced by the 2016 Regulations. The document has been produced by NALC (National Association of Local Councils).
