Overall winner of the BHIB Council of the Year award is Charlesworth Parish Council (pictured), with the Councillor of the Year going to Olwen Wilson of Middleton-by-Wirksworth.
Winner of the Blachere Illumination Clerk of the Year is Phillip Woodward of Pilsley Parish Council.

Last week a whole percentage point increase in the rate of borrowing from the Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) with immediate effect was announced.
The move has increased the rate for a PWLB 50-year new maturity loan from 1.81% to 2.82% overnight.

The Government has confirmed that the 3 year moratorium on the application of the referendum principles (sometimes known as "capping") to local parish and town councils is to continue for 2020-21.
However the Government 'remains concerned about the pressure placed on taxpayers from thousands of town and parish councils across England' and expects them to exercise 'even greater restraint' for 2020/21.... Read More »

We have been made aware today that just 75% of councils across Derbyshire have submitted their AGAR (Annual Governance and Accountability Return) to date. This is already 2 weeks beyond the submission deadline and we have been asked to inform you that any councils that have not sent in their submission, or are in receipt of confirmation of an extended deeadline from PKF Littlejohn, by Monday 15th July...
