The UK Government's COVID19 recovery strategy

The Government has released updated guidelines related to the Coronavirus. As ever, it is important to use official Government advice to inform any actions or decisions, given the prevalence of unreliable news sources. On Monday afternoon the government released 'Our plan to rebuild: the UK Government's COVID-19 recovery strategy'. This gives more detail of new government guidelines that come into effect from Wednesday 13th May (p25 onwards).

NALC advice to local councils remains unaltered at this time. In particular its worth highlighting that councils should not be holding meetings in person and wherever possible staff should work from home. Where there are roles that cannot be performed from home it is important to follow government advice for employers. The full range of our advice and information for local councils can be found on our Coronavirus webpage

NALC will be analysing the detail further of the new government documents and raising issues with government based on feedback from councils.
