The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has confirmed that the appropriate sum for parish councils for the purposes of section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 for 2018-19 is £7.86.

What is the Communities Fund? A £2.5m pot over the next 2 years from DCLG to provide funding to local authorities working with community groups to deliver solutions to entrenched social issues for example relating to:
• Early intervention and high cost individuals
• Adult social care
• Children's Services
• Employment Support

Council tax referendum principles have not been extended to parish and town councils in 2017/18.

It is a mandatory requirement that every town and parish council should have Financial Regulations in place. The 2014 Model template has been revised and replaced by the 2016 Regulations. The document has been produced by NALC (National Association of Local Councils).
