The Government has announced that workers who were on Furlough Leave before the 10th June 2020, can return to work on a Part Time/Reduced hours basis from the 1st July.
- It is up to Employers to decide what hours should be worked, as long as they would fall within Employees normal hours of work.

As you may know, the clerk salary scales reflect those of the public sector, negotiated nationally. As yet, there has been no agreement on the pay award for 2020-21.
On 5th February the Employers made a pay offer of 2% for the 2020 pay award, which has been rejected by the joint trade unions. Negotiations are continuing but it would be wise for local Councils to budget for an amount in excess of 2%... Read More »

The local government unions' have this week submitted a pay claim which is open to consultation among local councils.
- The pay claim for 2018/19 includes a 5% increase on all NJC pay points, the deletion of NJC pay points 6, 7, 8 & 9 (the deletion of these pay points to occur after the 5% increase has been applied to ensure that no NJC pay points fall below the Foundation Living Wage rate of £8.45... Read More »

The National Association of Local Councils has adopted a longstanding policy position that parish councillors should have the same rights as principal authority councillors to be able to claim the Dependants' Carers' allowance.
