Board of Directors
The Board of Directors at Derbyshire ALC (DALC) provides strategic leadership and governance for the organisation. The role of each director is to ensure that DALC remains focused on its mission: supporting, empowering, and representing parish and town councils across Derbyshire.
The Board is responsible for setting the organisation’s strategic direction, agreeing priorities, and overseeing policies and financial management. It ensures that DALC operates efficiently, responsibly and in line with its charitable objectives and not-for-profit status.
Directors act as custodians of good governance, making sure that decisions are made transparently, risks are managed appropriately, and resources are used effectively to benefit member councils. They provide guidance and oversight to the Chief Executive and staff, ensuring that day-to-day operations align with the organisation’s strategic goals.
The Board also plays a key role in representing members’ interests, reviewing emerging issues in local government, and ensuring that DALC’s services, training, and advice remain relevant and responsive to councils’ needs.
Through regular meetings, policy oversight, and strategic planning, the Board of Directors ensures that DALC continues to deliver professional support, promote best practice and advocate effectively for parish and town councils across Derbyshire.
