A Basic Introduction to Planning
This session is aimed at giving councillors and clerks a basic understanding of the planning system. There will be a focus on the roles and responsibilities local councils in planning, local plans, national planning policy framework, developer contributions as well as guidance on how to prepare and review a neighbourhood plan and respond effectively to planning applications, including the use of material considerations, and much more.
The trainer, Andrew Towlerton, is a qualified and experienced planner who has held several senior planning positions, including in Derbyshire. He is also a parish clerk (in Sheffield).
Requirements

Our online training is live and interactive, you must be in a place where you can do this safely. Driving whilst attending our online training will result in you being removed and your council will be charged the full cost of the course.
