December Forum with CREST

The CREST Forum met in December to discuss a range of current and emerging issues affecting councils, with a particular focus on collaboration, shared challenges, and future priorities. Members received updates on ongoing work-streams and reflected on how councils can continue to respond effectively to changing expectations, regulatory pressures, and resource constraints.

Discussion highlighted the importance of partnership working and information-sharing across authorities, especially in relation to community resilience, service delivery, and engagement with residents. Attendees noted the value of learning from good practice elsewhere and the need for clear, consistent guidance to support councils in navigating complex or evolving areas of responsibility.

The meeting also looked ahead to upcoming activity, including future meetings and areas for further exploration. The Forum reaffirmed its role as a space for open discussion and collective problem-solving, helping councils stay informed and connected as work continues into the new year.
