Council of the year
Pilsley Parish Council
Recognised for bringing councillors and staff together through its annual Business Planning Day, agreeing local priorities and developing a shared vision that makes a real difference to its community.
Environmental project of the year
Findern Parish Council – Highfields Environmental Enhancement Project
Recognised for its collaborative approach to creating a greener, more connected community. Working with land managers and residents, Findern is developing a five-year vision to enhance wildlife habitats, increase biodiversity and bring people together through environmental action.
Councillor of the Year
Cllr Richard Massey – Holbrook Parish Council
Recognised for over 40 years of dedicated service, championing community life and protecting valued village assets. From securing and revitalising Arkwright Hall to establishing much-loved events, Richard’s leadership and commitment have created lasting benefits for residents of all ages.
Clerk of the year
Christopher Cave – Hathersage Parish Council
Recognised for over 65 years of exceptional service as Responsible Financial Officer. Chris’s expertise, integrity and dedication have supported generations of councillors, safeguarded council finances and helped sustain treasured community facilities, including Hathersage’s much-loved open-air swimming pool.
Long service Award
Cllr Valerie Broom – Crich Parish Council
Celebrating the dedication of clerks, officers and councillors who have given many years of service to their councils and communities. These awards recognise their commitment, experience and the lasting contribution they have made to local life.
